Kazakhstan, Lithuania to sign several agreements in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan and Lithuanian will sign at least three agreements in Astana today, believes Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius.

"I believe that this day is of paramount importance both for Kazakhstan and Lithuania. Hence, today we will ink three agreements on mutual protection of classified information, cooperation in counteraction of the laundering of proceeds of crime and the financing of terrorism and cooperation in the sphere of veterinary. I am confident that these agreements will give a new impulse to the development of bilateral cooperation in the most important sphere of mutual interests," the Lithuanian premier said. "We also welcome stronger cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. We hope that the new partnership agreement between Kazakhstan and the EU will be signed and come into effect in the nearest future. And it will help take Kazakh-Lithuanian bilateral cooperation to a higher level," Mr. Butkevičius added. Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius is currently in Astana where he is expected to attend the Kazakhstan-Lithuania Business Forum and meet with President Nursultan Nazarbayev on May 21.
