Kazakhstan, Lithuania to strengthen cooperation in tourism - K. Uskenbayev

ASTANA. March 3. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan has organized today a meeting of the Working Group on promotion of tourist services and products between Kazakhstan and Lithuania which attended by the representatives of both countries' authorities and business communities.

The event, as the Ministry's press service informs, is held within the official visit of the Lithuanian delegation, led by Chancellor of the Ministry of Economy Gediminas Miškinis.

The parties focused on bilateral cooperation in tourism and health-resort science, and tourist potential of Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

"We are glad to welcome your delegation in our country. I think the Kazakh side was pleased to accept Lithuania's proposition to define tourism as a separate issue for the sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission. This is a very important sector both for Kazakhstan and Lithuania. Our countries should activate their ties in tourism and in other spheres," Vice Minister of Tourism and Sport Kairbek Uskenbayev said addressing the Lithuanian delegation.
