Kazakhstan marks Gratitude Day March 1

Kazakhstan celebrates Gratitude Day on March 1, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Gratitude Day is dated to the foundation of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan and has been observed in Kazakhstan since 2016. The decree on the establishment of the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan was signed on March 1, 1995. 

The People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan is a unique public institution called to support and promote interethnic and interfaith harmony in the society. At the XXXII session of the Kazakhstan People’s Assembly President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that the Assembly played an important role in the political modernization of the country and strengthening nationwide unity.

Gratitude Day symbolizes the unity of the multiethnic country. It is called to foster tolerance, respect, and amiability in children and young people as well as strengthen interfaith consent and interethnic relations throughout Kazakhstan.

Various festive and official events, including exhibitions, concerts, and performances are to be held today countywide.
