Kazakhstan marks National Currency Day today

ASTANA. November 15. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan marks the Day of the National Currency - tenge today.

By the Decree of the President as of November 13, 1997 November 15 was declared the Day of the National Currency. This Day has been marked as the professional holiday of the financial system employees since 1993.

The national currency of Kazakhstan -tenge was firstly brought into circulation on November 15, 1993. The currency owes its name to Academician of the International Academy of Engineering, outstanding Kazakh scientists, laureate of the USSR State Prize Sauk Takezhanov.
