Kazakhstan may join world's 30 most developed countries ahead of 2050: Romano Prodi

"I believe that you will join the club of the 30 most developed countries of the world way ahead of 2050. Hopefully, we will be at hand to help you achieve this ambitious goal," the former head of the Italian government noted at the Eurasian Forum of Emerging Markets in Astana today.
The well-known Italian politician Prodi took the floor at the Astana forum to deliver a speech on the management of energy resources. The ex-Italian PM noted that energy estimation of the Eurasian region is positive. It [the region] exports energy resources, oil and gas, however, over the recent decade domestic consumption of oil and gas has increased for 21% and 27% respectively. According to Mr. Prodi, Kazakhstan is among the world's 11 most energy intensive economies.
