Kazakhstan may produce up to 40 mln tons of oil with the help of Chinese partners

"For these purposes we need a pipeline. We have already discussed that with Chinese President Xi Jinping on May 19," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted. "China faces one of the key tasks to provide its growing economy with energy resources in the years to come and Kazakhstan is ready to help. We have already built a gas pipeline through Kazakhstan to China and a pipeline stretching from the Caspian region to China. Kazakhstan delivered 13 million tons of oil to China last year, but that figure may reach 20 million tons in the future. Kazakhstan prides on vast coal and uranium reserves and today we have negotiated possible cooperation in the coal and uranium industries with local companies. The sales turnover between the two countries has hit the mark of $29 billion, but our goal is to lift it up to $40 billion," President Nazarbayev added.
