Kazakhstan names Nazgul Yessteusizova as Microfinance Ombudswoman
During the meeting of the Board of Representatives, Nazgul Yessteusizova was elected the Microfinance Ombudswoman of Kazakhstan by a majority vote, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market of Kazakhstan.
Nazgul Yessteusizova has higher education in economics and law and master’s degree in law as well as work experience in the banking sector. Prior to her appointment as Microfinance Ombudswoman, she served as the Chairwoman of the National Chamber of Collectors of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan introduced the institution of Microfinance Ombudsman under the law on introduction of changes and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan to minimize lending risks, protect the rights of borrowers, improve the regulation of financial market and enforcement proceedings, signed by the Head of State on June 19 this year.
The Microfinance Ombudsman is elected for a period of three years among candidates nominated by the Representatives’ Board and endorsed by the Agency.
As was reported earlier, Kazakhstan for the first time the institution of Microfinance Ombudsman, who will start work starting from December 21, 2021.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan named new Business Ombudsman.
