Kazakhstan names new Deputy Minister of Defense
In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State, Dauren Kosanov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
Dauren Kosanov was born on 14 October 1969 in the village of Novotroitskoye of the Pavlodar region.
He graduated from the Armavir Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots PVO in 1990, the Gagarin Air Force Academy in 2005, the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2013.
Dauren Kosanov held different positions in the following units: 27th Fighter Air Guard Regiment in Usharal, Commander of the Su-27 squadron in Taldykorgan, Chief of Staff of Karaganda Airbase, Commander of the Shymkent airbase, Commander of the Air Force of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Military Institute of Air Defense Forces in Aktobe.
On 29 December 2022, by the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Dauren Kosanov was honored with the Order of Glory 2nd Class and Medal for Military Valour.
