Kazakhstan names new Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs

By presidential order, Ansagan Baltabekov has been appointed to the post of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan, Akorda press service reports.

Ansagan Baltabekov took over from Yerkin Botakanov as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard of Kazakhstan.

Baltabekov is a graduate of the Kazakh State Law Academy. Between 2002 and 2017, he held different officer and senior positions in the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2017 and 2019, Baltabekov served in the national security bodies of Kazakhstan.

From 2019 to 2022, he took different senior positions in the Kazakh State Security Service.

In 2022 and 2024, Baltabekov acted as the deputy head of the State Security Service of Kazakhstan.

In May 2023, Baltabekov was assigned a special rank – Major General of the State Security Service.
