Kazakhstan needs to export 1.5 mln tons of grain to vacate elevators for next harvest
ASTANA. March 16. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan has to export 1.5 mln tons of grain to vacate grain elevators for further yield," Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov told before the opening of the V KazGrain 2012 grain forum in Astana.
"We are expected to debate at the forum the grain markets trends in Kazakhstan, CIS and non-CIS countries. Last year Kazakhstan gathered rich wheat crops; therefore, wheat sales issues are vital for us. Currently, Kazakhstan exports about 1.2 mln tons of grain. There are several factors that hinder the growth of wheat exports, one of which is grain car shortage" he added.
The forum will last for 2 days. It brings together 250 Kazakhstani and foreign companies, grain industry experts and business circles from more than 20 countries of the world.
