Kazakhstan needs to unlock its tourism potential – PM

In the past three years, Kazakhstan has attracted investment worth $4 billion to its tourism sector, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said at the Government meeting Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

According to him, over 400 tourist facilities have been built and some 7,000 jobs have been created in the said period. Hotels of over 20 hotel brands operating in Kazakhstan attract foreign tourists.

“Tourism is one of the fastest-growing sector in the global economy. As the Head of State pointed out, the country should attach considerable attention to unlocking its tourism potential,” Alikhan Smailov stressed.

Inflow of ecotourists, in his words, have been demonstrating steady growth in the national parks in the past 3 years.
