MINSK. March 15. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan is not just a partner within the Customs Union and the CIS for us but a strategic partner.

Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said it during bilateral meeting with Head of the Government of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov.

'We are glad that the number of trade and economic and innovation projects is constantly increasing between our countries. It brings a lot of good prospects for us', M. Myasnikovich said.

He also noted that new personnel of the Government of Belarus would try to ensure the continuity that was established before.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus had reached a historic mark of USD 850 million last year. It is 60 percent more than it was before the crisis.

K. Massimov, in his turn, expressed confidence that bilateral relations established by Nursultan Nazarbayev and Alexander Lukashenko would continue to develop.

'We have developed our strategic partnership since the first days of our independence. Being the Heads of the Government we will exert every effort to reach the goals that were set', K. Massimov noted.
