Kazakhstan performs 60 000 cardiac surgeries in 2013
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Healthcare Ministry of Kazakhstan says more than 60 thousand cardiac surgeries were performed in Kazakhstan in 2013, that is 11 thousand more surgeries than in 2012.

According to the ministry's press release, nearly 10 600 open heart surgeries were carried out during the same period. 40 stroke centers were opened across the country as well.
Kazakhstan has been busy lately with introducing new treatment options for dialysis patients in line with the international standards. Some 2 500 people underwent the new treatment in 2013. Kazakhstan spends at least KZT 3.5 million on one dialysis patients per year.
