Kazakhstan plans to build biopharmaceutical plant on production of biologic drugs

ASTANA. February 12. KAZINFORM The Science Fund of Kazakhstan of the Education Ministry plans to implement a project on construction of a biopharmaceutical plant on production of biologic drugs, Chairman of the Fund Kuatzhan Ualiyev said at the briefing dedicated to development of innovations in Kazakhstan.

"The fund will begin implementation of the projects on construction of the Biopharmaceutical Plant on production of bio products in the nearest time. The design capacity of the plant is up to 10 mln doses a year," Kuatzhan Ualiyev said.

He noted that the plant would be producing vaccines against influenza, poliomyelitis, and brucellosis and veterinary drugs.

It is planned that the plant it will be located in the territory of the Scientific Research Institute for Biological Safety in Almaty region.
