Kazakhstan plans to increase oil extraction up to 86 mln tons in 2017

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan plans to extract 86 mln tons of oil in 2017, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Uzakbai Karabalin told at the CCS media briefing.

"It should be noted that despite slowing down of the pace of oil extraction in Kazakhstan in the recent time, the increase is expected in the nearest future. We plan to increase the volume of oil extraction up to 86 million tons in 2017 and up to 104 million tons in 2020," he informed.

He also said the increase was conditioned by the expansion of production at Tengiz field and activation of oil production at Kashagan deposit.
