Kazakhstan plans to open embassy in Norway

ASTANA. May 8. KAZINFORM "Kazakhstan plans to raise its diplomatic mission to Oslo to the rank of the embassy  to the Kingdom of Norway," Secretary of State of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Torgeir Larsen told journalists after the talk with his Kazakh counterpart in Astana.

"This fact symbolizes expansion of bilateral partnership between Kazakhstan and Norway, as well as energy cooperation for Kazakhstan and Norway are energy-producing countries and have similar interests in this sphere," T. Larsen said.

Besides, Torgeir Larsen and Kazakh Foreign Affairs Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov debated Afghanistan situation, joint efforts aimed at nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
