Kazakhstan promotes business activities, ambassador

MOSCOW. November 22. KAZINFORM "Since gaining its independence Kazakhstan has succeeded in building up an efficient economy and has ranked among the upper-middle-income countries,"  Kazakh Ambassador to Russia Galym Orazbakov said at the meeting with students and teaching staff of the Higher School of Economics.

Delivering a lecture on "The role of government and business in the contemporary history of Kazakhstan" Orazbakov briefed on the main stages of the development of the independent country with market economy.

"Thanks to the reforms and efforts of the whole society, Kazakhstan has achieved impressive results. For the short period of time the country's GDP per capita grew from USD 700 to USD 12, 000. According to the WB classification, Kazakhstan has joined the upper-middle-income countries," the ambassador noted.

"As a member of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space Kazakhstan made a great contribution to the development of regional integration processes. Its key partners are Russia, China and the countries of Europe."

He also told also about further measures for diversification of the national economy.
