Kazakhstan proposes to increase number of baskets and institutes of OSCE - N. Nazarbayev

ASTANA. December 1. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sihimbayev/ Kazakhstan proposes to increase the number of baskets and institutions of the OSCE. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said it at the Summit in Astana.

'First is economic pragmatism. It is a cornerstone of a security system of the 21^st century. In this regard we should support the efforts of the EU to stabilize economy. 'The Great Eight' and 'Twenty' discuss the problems of overcoming the global crisis. Though, the process has a slow pace. Therefore the efforts of the OSCE aimed at strengthening of economic security could become a priority and financial-economic security could constitute a separate basket', the Head of the State said.

'The global economy needs reserve currency of a new quality. This issue needs special attention. We also propose to add 'Maastricht +' to the Maastricht Strategy. The councils of energy security and economy cooperation can be added to the OSCE structure', N. Nazarbayev added.
