Kazakhstan Prosecutor General’s Office: fate of more than 600 children adopted by foreigners not known.

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - ‘The fate of more than 600 Kazakh children adopted by citizens of other states is not known. This fact was found out during an inspection carried out by the General Prosecutor's Office' - the head of department Ashat Daulbaev informed.

‘Over the past 15 years about 5000 children were adopted in Kazakhstan. Every 5th child was adopted by foreigners. It is almost 9000 children,' - A. Daulbaev said. According to him, work to control the conditions of 3500 children's lives abroad is actually failed. Today there is no information about the whereabouts of 673 children adopted by foreigners. Prosecutor General's Office think that the reason is in the lack of coordination and interagency cooperation among guardianship bodies (MES, MFA and MIA).
