Kazakhstan, Qatar armed forces eye bilateral cooperation
Almaty hosted the 1st meeting of the Joint Working Group of the Kazakh and Qatari defense ministries, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The Kazakh delegation was led by Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Major General Mereke Kuchekbaev, and the Qatari side was led by Major General Jassim Al-Mohannadi, Head of the Training Authority Staff, the press service of the Kazakh Defense Ministry says.
The sides agreed to establish interaction in military education and science, cybersecurity, sport and training for the Special Operations Forces personnel and air staff.
The Joint Working Group was set up in line with the military cooperation agreement. This structure determines, organizes and coordinates the activity of the two countries’ defense ministries.
Earlier, it was reported that the Kazakh Senate ratified an Agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Qatar on military cooperation.
