Kazakhstan ready to expand interaction with Germany in ensuring int'l security and combating modern challenges and threats - Nazarbayev
President Nursultan Nazarbayev has made it public at a press conference following the results of the negotiations with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
"Today we discussed the issues of interaction of our countries in the international arena, exchanged opinions on the work upon new agreement on expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union," N.Nazarbayev said.
The President noted that at a meeting there were discussed the issues relating to the integration in the post-Soviet space, the situation in Central Asia, Afghanistan, the Middle East and North Africa, the Iranian nuclear program. N.Nazarbayev told about Kazakhstan' chairmanship in the OIC, preparation for the Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions, which will be held in Astana in May, 2012.
"Kazakhstan highly appreciates the role of Germany and Mrs.Merkel in maintaining financial stability in the eurozone. We are ready to expand interaction with Germany in ensuring international security, combating modern challenges and threats, overcoming consequences of the world financial-economic crisis," the Head of State emphasized.
