Kazakhstan reports 8% decline in measles cases
Measles incidence has been on decline in Kazakhstan over three weeks of January, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh health ministry.
Incidence of measles has declined 8% compared to December. Within the additional mass vaccination campaign, over 70% children aged 6-10 months, as well as aged 2-4 years have been immunized.
The coverage of children at the age of 1 year and at the age of 6 stood at 100.7% and 99.6% with the planned vaccination against measles. Over 170 thousand children under 18 have been covered with the catch-up vaccination, said the press service of the Kazakh health ministry.
The hospitalization of those contacted measles has reduced by 25% compared to December 2023.
