Kazakhstan reports increase in domestic and foreign visitors

From January to September 2024, the number of domestic travelers increased by 562,000, having reached 6 million people, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

According to the Ministry, 11.5 million foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan in the reporting period, which is almost twice more against the same period in 2023. 969,000 foreigners stayed in hotels and other accommodation facilities.

The Ministry notes that these data show the effectivenes of the measures taken and growing interest in Kazakhstan as a tourist destination.

Meanwhile, the economic indicators of the sector also demonstrate a significant growth, with the income from the accommodation facilities surging by 27%  and reaching 224 billion tenge.

The number of accommodation facilities rose by 306 units to 4,315, while their capacity reached 226,000 beds.

Investments in tourism industry continue to increase as well. In 10 months of 2024, their volume augmented by 33.6% having made 668.1 billion tenge.
