Kazakhstan, Russia and Belorussia discussed draft Customs Code

MOSCOW. August 12. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Draft Customs Code of the Customs Union has been coordinated at the 7th session of the Customs Union Commission in Moscow; First Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev has said it following the results of the session on Wednesday.

According to him 13 issues were considered at the session the most important of which are the draft Customs Code and distribution principles for customs duties on the single customs territory.

"Following the results of the session we would like to confirm that the Customs Union will come into force on January, 1, 2010", - the First Vice Prime Minister said. - Concerning the Customs Code we are glad that our counterparts supported the results of our work headed by the Kazakh Ministry of Finance. The Customs Code is a large document covering 342 articles", - U. Shukeyev said.

According to him about 12 notes on the Draft Code are still uncoordinated as they will be considered by the expert group till the end of August.

As First Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov said according to the proposal of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev which was supported by the heads of Russia and Belorussia the Customs Union will come into  force on January, 1. 

"The document developed by the Kazakhstani part is very complicated, it is based on the elements of the Kyoto Convention", - he emphasized.
