Kazakhstan's chairmanship always to be a very important stage in the CSTO development

ASTANA. April 8. KAZINFORM CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha has commented on the adoption of the statement to establish cooperation between the CSTO and NATO at a press conference following the meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.

In addition, he noted the influence of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Organization on its development.

"I would like to draw attention to the Ministerial statement on the establishment of relations with NATO. This is not our first call for NATO in order to work together on those important and complex security problems faced by the CSTO and NATO member states," Bordyuzha said.

"I would also like to note that the meeting considered appropriate to develop some of the documents governing the internal operation of the applications' preparation to interact with international institutions. All these questions are initiated primarily the Kazakh side. In conclusion I would like to note that Kazakhstan's chairmanship is always a very important stage in the development of the CSTO, as it gives a strong impetus to improve the system of collective security. For that I am extremely grateful to the leadership of Kazakhstan," the CSTO Secretary General added.
