Kazakhstan’s entry into WTO remains topical goal despite Customs Union establishment

ASTANA. December 25. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ "The entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) remains topical goal for Kazakhstan despite the Customs Union establishment", Kazakh First Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev has said today in Astana.

He reminded that the negotiations with this Organization have been held for 8 years. "We can entry into the WTO just accepting all their conditions and signing documents. But this will affect our producers", U.Shukeyev said, stressing the importance of upholding of interests.  

The First Vice Premier noted that the WTO is first of all regulation of our relations with the world. He gave the following figures. The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan is up to USD 110 bln where USD 70 bln out of them is export, USD 40 bln is import.

USD 60 bln out of export fall on non-CIS states and USD 10 bln - on CIS sates. Our primary resources take the greatest part of the non-CIS export. "The rest of the world is interested in our raw materials on any conditions. This will be our position to be promoted", U.Shukeyev said.
