Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover increased by 43.1% in January - October, 2010

ASTANA. December 14. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ "The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in ten months this year increased by 43.1% and made USD 81 bln", Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zhanar Aitzhanova said at a telephone conference of the Government on Tuesday.

The export increased by 52.6% making USD 51.4 bln, while the import increased by 29.1% and made USD 29.6 bln.

According to the Minister, the increase of the foreign turnover is conditioned by favorable pricing environment at the world commodity markets and production growth in the export-oriented sectors.

"In ten months of the year the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and other members of the Customs Union made USD 13.5 bln, where Russia took about 90%. Compared to the corresponding period of the last year the trade turnover with Russia increased by 1.3 times, with Belarus - by 1.4 times", the Minister said.
