Kazakhstan's GDP increases by 5.1% since early 2013

ASTANA. July 23. KAZINFORM The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth was estimated at 5.1% in Kazakhstan for almost seven months of 2013.

It was announced by Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev at Tuesday's Government meeting. Minister Dossayev reported on the results of Kazakhstan's socioeconomic development in the 1H of 2013.

"Despite uncertainly in the global economy and at the international markets, Kazakhstani economy remains stable. Kazakhstan's GDP increased by 5.1% from January to July 2013," Y. Dossayev said.

The Economy Minister also noted that the inflation rate made 0.3% in June 2013, and 2.7% during the reporting period.

In his words, the increase in consumer demand became the key factor of the economic growth and fueled the retail sales volume up to 12.3%, transport services - 7%, communication services - 14.6%.
