Kazakhstan's healthcare system needs over 4, 500 doctors

ASTANA. January 13. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakhstan feels lack of more than 4.5 thousand doctors, Kazinform cites Vice Chairman of the Party Control Committee of Nur Otan People's Democratic Party Anuar Ilyasova as saying.

"Personnel shortage is the major problem of Kazakhstan's healthcare system. According to the Healthcare Ministry, manpower deficit in 2010 was 6, 251 specialists, including 5, 083 doctors. This year this figure makes 5, 694 including 4, 672 doctors", A. Ilyasova said.

"The Ministry of Healthcare and the Ministry of Education as well as other interested state bodies should develop certain measures on sending the graduates of medical universities who studied under public contracts to state-financed medical organizations to work there", she considers.
