ASTANA. May 18. KAZINFORM CIS Interparliamentary Assembly has finished its meetings in Saint Petersburg.

Kazakh parliamentary delegation headed by Majilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin participated in the following events: the meeting of the heads of parliaments of the Single Economic Space, 37th plenary sitting of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, sittings of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

This year CSTO marks 10th anniversary. Speaking about the main activities of the Organization Nurlan Nigmatulin noted that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, while presiding over the CSTO, determined the priorities for the next year. Among them are the protection of the information space in the CSTO member states, development of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force, collective protection of the airspace of the Central Asian region, formation of the CSTO anti-drug strategy; development of the training site of the Ministry of Emergencies of Kazakhstan "Astana, the Rock City".

The Speaker expressed confidence that all those medium-term and long-term priorities would maintain the relevance after the Kazakhstan's chairmanship.
