Kazakhstan, S Korea inked $10 bln worth of construction contracts over 20 years

ASTANA. October 29. KAZINFORM Since 1993 Korean construction companies and Kazakhstan have signed $10 billion worth of contracts, Vice Chairman of the International Contractors Association of Korea Shin Soong Chull told the Kazakhstani-Korean Construction Industry Forum in Astana on Tuesday.

"150 contracts worth $10 billion have been inked by 67 Korean companies and Kazakhstan starting from 1993. Contracts totaling $5.8 billion have been signed in the last couple of years," he stated.

In his words, the Korean construction companies have made 9 500 contracts worth $589 billion over 48 years internationally. "Thus, our specialists have accumulated valuable experience and professionalism in that sphere. South Korea erects only highly qualitative buildings," Mr. Shin Soong Chull concluded proudly.

The Korean construction companies first entered Kazakhstani market in 1993 when Samsung Group built a medical center in Zhezkazgan.
