Kazakhstan's oil reserves to last for minimum of 50 years: Oil & Gas Minister
ASTANA. September 17. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan is among the top 10 oil producing countries and energy super powers in the world.

"Kazakhstan has approximately 50 years of remaining production of oil," Minister of Oil and Gas Uzakbai Karabalin told the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
"Kazakhstan's recoverable oil reserves are enough to provide all three oil refineries and domestic market of oil products," Mr. Karabalin added.
However, in his words, there are aspects that can weaken the position of the Kazakhstani oil industry: high net cost of oil, high transport component, high attractiveness of oil export and so on.
Uzakbai Karabalin also announced the plans of Kazakhstan to step up oil production in the future. "We will search for new oil fields, step up oil production and export and use it for the benefit and interests of Kazakhstan," he added.
