Kazakhstan?s participation in environmental activities to be amounted up to 85%
ASTANA. January 30. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Last year 43 large enterprises of the country with 80% of emissions spent KZT 123 bln for their reduce. Kazakh Minister of Environment Nurlan Iskakov informed about it at the enlarged Board of the Ministry, Kazinform correspondent reports.

?According to the last analysis about 65% in the environmental projects is Kazakhstan?s participation. About 50 thousand workers were involved into the environmental measures. In particular, 8 200 people worked over the environmental projects in ?Kaztsink? JSC and over 1 100 people ? in ?Arselor Mittal Temirtau? JSC. In total, environmental effect in the country amounted to 149 thousand tons of airborne emissions. Increase of a number of environmental measures amounted to KZT 150 bln is scheduled in 2009. Kazakhstan?s participation will be increased up to 85% and the number of job places ? up to 80 thousand people?, the Minister said.
N. Iskakov emphasized that the Ministry will carry out quarterly monitoring and inform the Government on the environmental measures covering four principal parameters as: amount of disbursements, Kazakhstan?s participation, number of job places and environmental effect.
