Kazakhstan's role in the development of New Silk Road is of high importance

ASTANA. KAZINFORM The Hacettepe University of Turkey jointly with the Kazakh Embassy in Ankara organized a symposium themed "Economic cooperation of Turkic countries along the Silk Road" as part of scientific and humanitarian cooperation of Kazakhstan and Turkey.

Promising and important spheres of participatory development of transport links and infrastructure facilities along the Silk Road were brought up for discussion, the press service of the Kazakh Embassy in Turkey said. Realization of joint projects in the sphere of construction of highway and railway lines was given particular consideration. The parties highlighted the role of Kazakhstan and Turkey in the construction of railway tracks within TRASECA initiatives. According to rector of the Hacettepe University Murat Tuncer, the research institutes under the University hold seminars and carry out reviews for further efficient participation of Turkey in the transport and logistics sector between the Silk Road countries and more efficient cooperation of the parties concerned. "Kazakhstan's role in this issue is of high importance, bearing in mind, its territory and economic potential," he added. A photo exhibition featuring Kazakhstan's achievements for the years of its independence, an exhibition of Kazakhstan's books, translated into Turkish, as well as Kazakhstan's 2050 Strategy and works of President Nursultan Nazarbayev were held within the symposium.
