Kazakhstan's Shvedova named WTA Comeback Player of the Year
MOSCOW. November 29. KAZINFORM Yaroslava Shvedova was named the WTA's comeback player of the year Monday after she finished the season 177 places higher than she started it.

World No. 29 Shvedova was laid low by injury for much of 2011 but rebounded this season to reach the quarterfinals of the French Open and reached a career-high ranking of 25th last month, R-Sport reports.
The Kazakhstan player also recorded the first so-called golden set in the Open era, winning every point in the first set of her 6-0, 6-4 win over Sara Errani at Wimbledon.
