Kazakhstan's task - to join states with lowest corruption level - President

ASTANA. March 29. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received Chairman of the Agency for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption Kairat Kozhamzharov, the Presidential press service informs.

K. Kozhamzharov informed the President about the present activities of the financial police.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted during the meeting that combating corruption was the main task for financial police.

The Head of State said that it was one of the tasks for Kazakhstan to join the states with the lowest corruption level. Financial police should not interfere with the affairs of small and medium business. In this regard the measures on protection of rights of small and medium business entities should be strengthened.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon the approved by the Government of Kazakhstan Sectoral Program Against Corruption till 2015. The main goal of this program is improving legal literacy among the people of Kazakhstan and strengthening of confidence of people about activities of law enforcement and other state bodies.

The President charged the bodies of financial police to strengthen work against corruption, take measures on further neutralization of shadow economy and make proposals on liberalization and humanization of crimes in economic sphere.
