Kazakhstan's work carried out within OSCE in 2010 gives ground for cautious optimism

ASTANA. December 1. KAZINFORM /Yelizaveta Voronchuk/ Kazakhstan is adhered to the basic principles and values of the OSCE, its strategic vision and global priorities. It has always taken on board the interests of all OSCE participating states, striven to ensure a balance between the three dimensions of the Organization. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev has said it at the opening of the OSCE Summit in Astana today.

As he said, Kazakhstan always paid attention to the issues of interethnic and interfaith tolerance, which the country was devoted to. Our country strived to build confidence within the OSCE area. The contacts of the Corfu process enabled Kazakhstan to move the activities of the Organization forward and to build credibility.

"The work we carried out in 2010 on solution of the conflicts, despite the difficulties we have countered and the long-term character of the problems, gives us grounds for cautious optimism", K.Saudabayev said.

"I hope that next year a new version of the Vienna document will be approved", the Chairperson-in-Office said.
