Kazakhstan scales up wages even in crisis ? realization of Nur Otan?s Platform

KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Two years which passed since the elections to the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament have showed that the People?s Democratic Party ?Nur Otan? follows its course and fulfills election promises outlined in its Platform ?For prosperity of Kazakhstan and welfare of Kazakhstanis: how we improve life of every citizen of the country?.

Despite the affect of the world financial crisis upon the country?s economy and the republican budget cut, from January 1, 2009 the minimal salary size was increased to KZT 13,470. Base official salary was also increased from KZT 8,712 to 10,890. It allowed to scale up wages to civil servants by 25% in 2009.
In February 2009 an average monthly nominal wage per one worker made up KZT 61,793. Thus it is increased by 13.2% as compared to February 2008. Index of real wages amounted to 103,7%.
