Kazakhstan sculptor displays works at Art-Expo New York 2009
NEW-YORK. March 3. KAZINFORM /Aliya Altyngazina/ More than 500 galleries and thousands of artists displayed their works at international Art-EXPO, the largest fine art fair in New York.
New York Realism studio headed by Leila Elayes and Berik Kulmamirov had its premier showcase and entered the Expo catalogue. Kazakhstan sculptor Askar Nartov, author of the monument to Abai Kunanbayev in Karaganda as well as other monuments and sculptural works, took part in the event at the invitation of the studio.
During five days Art-Expo attracted tens of thousands of art lovers, collectors and representatives of the museums from all over the globe. The expo has been arranged for more than 30 years and for many modern artists it is a path to international recognition.
According to Berik Kulmamirov, the works of Kazakhstani artists should be presented at the world displays, compete and surpass other artists' works.
