Kazakhstan sees great opportunity to expand cooperation with France

Presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron held substantive talks in Astana, Kazinform Agency reports.

There is a great opportunity to expand the scope of cooperation between the two nations, the Head of State said while delivering a joint statement with the President of France.

The Head of State stressed France is one of the largest trading partners of Kazakhstan adding that for the past eight months this year, the trade turnover increased by 21% as compared to the previous year.

As stated there, France ranks among the key foreign investors of Kazakhstan. For the past 15 years, Kazakhstan attracted some 18.7 billion US dollars in investments. Over 170 French companies are operating in Kazakhstan.

The sides also shared views on the regional and international agenda.
