Kazakhstan should become a haven for int’l IT companies - President
Kazakhstan takes up leading positions in global rankings in terms of e-government and fintech development, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Tuesday, Kazinform News Agency reports.
While addressing those who was attending the Altyn Sapa Awards in the Kazakh capital, President Tokayev reminded that Kazakhstan had recently launched the innovative format of national currency, the digital tenge.
He expressed confidence this step will give an additional impetus to the development of Kazakhstan’s financial system.
The Head of State went on to commend the dynamic development of domestic IT sector that is expanding its share in the economies of developed countries every year. Last year the export of the domestic IT industry has increased fivefold.
President Tokayev set the task to increase the IT export by $1 billion by 2026 and place emphasis on further digitalization of all spheres of economy, encompassing everything from large industrial enterprises to small service projects.
Kazakhstan, according to Tokayev, should became a haven for offices of large international IT companies.
