Kazakhstan starts issuing QR code cards for foreign tourists to ensure their safety
Foreign nationals entering Kazakhstan will be issued QR-code cards with an access to SafeTravel.kz multilingual portal, providing recommendations for a safe stay in the country, Kazinform News Agency reports.

According to Polisia.kz, the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs takes strides to ensure safety of foreign tourists arriving in Kazakhstan. Henceforth, each foreign tourist can receive a QR-code card upon entry and at border control point.
The first QR code cards have already been issued to foreign guests at the Astana International Airport.
SafeTravel.kz portal provides links to download useful mobile applications and recommendations to ensure safe stay in the territory of Kazakhstan, such as 102 for immediate communication with the police, including through SOS function; rules of complying with migration legislation; map of the host city with a link to popular applications; list of official taxi and online services; list of communication services providers with a link to their official websites; algorithm of actions in case of incidents; contacts of other emergency services.
The launch of the system aims at ensuring protection and security of tourists and raising trust in Kazakhstan as a promising destination for travel and investment.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that the Turkistan region has become a popular destination among Uzbek tourists.
