Kazakhstan steps up cooperation with France
Ambassador Danenov met with the administration of the region, had talks with management of large local companies and surveyed facilities of BioMerieux enterprise.
During the meetings Mr. Danenov told about current economic and political situation in Kazakhstan, successful development of the Kazakh-French strategic partnership and expressed interest in expansion of the economic cooperation with the region. He also touched upon the key points of the President's Address to People of Kazakhstan relating to the areas where the region's potential might be used.
Kazakhstani diplomat noted that several companies from Rhone-Alpes region were operating in Kazakhstan and investing into its industry, sharing their technologies and know how. For instance, Kazakhstan in association with Vicat Group, France, constructs cement plant in Zhambyl region.
Ambassador Danenov thought it was a good idea for Lyon and Phone-Alpes to help organize the Days of Culture of France in Kazakhstan and Kazakhstan in France in 2013-2014 and designate an honorary consul of Kazakhstan to Lyon.
In the course of the meetings the Kazakhstani side established perspective contacts with the large French companies, and mapped out plans of building up cooperation with Phone-Alpes region. The parties agreed to exchange information on the most prospective directions of partnership on a regular basis. Kazakhstan and France were keen to cooperate in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, in economy, and developing ski resorts in Kazakhstan.
