Kazakhstan still committed to close space coop with Russia: MFA

"Kazakhstan hopes to expand its participation in space activities of Baikonur space center and to develop its space potential. It would be irrational on our part to waste the opportunity of close cooperation with such space power as Russia, especially at our own cosmodrome.
We would like to use the existing potential to the full to meet the needs of our economy and we believe that future cooperation in the space industry will be even more effective and successful, both for Kazakhstan and Russia.
It's no coincidence that presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia reiterated the importance of collaboration in space industry on 19 December in Moscow. The leaders of the nations are fully aware that Baikonur needs to be preserved as a symbol of our successful bilateral interaction," the statement reads.
