Kazakhstan strengthens South–South Cooperation for sustainable development

The fifth Asia-Pacific Forum of CEOs on South-South and Trilateral Cooperation was held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development “KazAID” Arken Arystanov, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.

The forum was attended by representatives of official development assistance agencies of the Asia-Pacific region, discussing current challenges and opportunities for South-South cooperation in the era of global digitalization and access to advanced technologies in order to solve the challenges of sustainable development, bridging the digital divide, as well as consolidating the efforts of operators to provide technical assistance.

Within the framework of the forum, Chairman of the Board Arystanov held a number of bilateral meetings, including with the UN Deputy Secretary-General – Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Alisjahbana, as well as with the leadership of the official development assistance agencies of Azerbaijan, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.

During the session on the topic “Digital innovations for technical assistance operators”, Chairman of the Board Arystanov made a report on the development and priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of digital innovations, noting significant prospects for trilateral South-South cooperation for the implementation of projects in the field of digital technology transfer.
