Kazakhstan submits bid for 2028 IIHF World Championship

Kazakhstan has submitted two applicant cities – Astana and Almaty – for its 2028 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship bid, Kazinform News Agency cites the official site of IIHF.

The country is to take on the US, Germany, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia, Latvia, and France in Group B of the 2024 IIHF World Championship hosted in Ostrava, the Czech Republic.

The next editions of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship have been assigned to Sweden and Denmark in 2025, Switzerland in 2026, and Germany in 2027.
