Kazakhstan suggests building joint AI-assisted agro-innovation centres
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, suggested establishing joint centres of agricultural innovations to commercialize and introduce the latest technologies, including AI, Kazinform Agency reports.
The President said another direction of Kazakhstan-Russia cooperation is the development of contemporary agrarian science and active introduction of innovations in the agro-industrial complex. Kazakhstan started reforming its science as part of the triunique education system: education-science-production consolidating the role of research universities.
"It is crucial to work at creating joint agro-innovation centres to commercialize and introduce the latest technologies, including AI," the President told the Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum themed ‘Agriculture is the basis for strong economy’ underway in Kostanay region.
In his words, one of the strategic tasks is providing farmers with homegrown seeds. To this end, Kazakhstan is working on the 2028 seed industry development overall plan as the share of the country’s selection is less than 10%.
