Kazakhstan supports expansion of SCO RATS Executive Committee functions through fight against cyber-terrorism and cyber-crime - President

On the issue of Syria Nazarbayev said that the overall alarm situation in North Africa and the Middle East creates serious threat to security and has a direct negative impact on the state of things in the SCO countries.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan supports the feasibility of improving the activities of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure of the SCO.
"We are in favor of expanding the functions of the RATS Executive Committee through the fighting against cyber-terrorism and cyber-crime. We welcome the holding in June 2013 in Tashkent the first round table of experts on cyber-terrorism. We consider it necessary to strengthen the existing mechanism of cooperation on the struggle against drug trafficking", he said.
In addition, the President stressed the importance of close partnership between the SCO and other international organizations on the issue of combating drug trafficking.
