Kazakhstan, Sweden eye to enhance political dialogue

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden, Olzhas Suleimenov met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Maria Malmer Stenergard, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The discussions focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the need to enhance political dialogue, facilitate high-level visits, strengthen trade, economic, and investment ties, and expand the legal framework for collaboration.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint initiatives in sustainable development. “Kazakhstan views Sweden as a reliable and vital partner in achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and implementing projects within the framework of the green transition. Strengthening cooperation in innovative technologies, green energy, and water resource management are among our priority areas,” said the Ambassador.

In turn, Maria Malmer Stenergard highlighted the strong relationship between Kazakhstan and Sweden and expressed Sweden’s readiness to deepen the partnership further. “Central Asia is a very important region, and we see great potential for expanding trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan,” the Swedish Minister stated.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on pressing international issues.

As reported previously, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov presented his credentials to His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.
