Kazakhstan sweeps 115 medals at Kyokushinkan World Tournament 2023

The Kyokushinkan Kazakhstan World Tournament 2023 held in Almaty brought together 700 fighters from 33 countries, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Kazakh Tourism and Sport Ministry.

On the final day, the Kazakh team competed in 5 women’s and 8 men’s weight categories to win six gold, four silver, and 11 bronze medals.

Kazakhstan secured 29 gold, 25 silver, and 61 bronze medals in the juniors, youth, men’s and women’s, and veterans kata and kumite final bouts to take the overall standing. Kazakhstan is followed by Russia with 24 gold, 26 silver and 47 bronze medals and Japan with 10 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals.

The next Kyokushinkan World Tournament will be held in Japan.
